The wait is finally over. Atlanta based creative group Underground Champions in association with Third World Citizens has created the mash up of 2009 - "Monte Smith VS. DJ Premier" available now for free at www.streetpoetmontesmith.com.

In conjunction with the release of internationally acclaimed Street Poet Monte Smith's new book Don't Shoot The Hostages: Poetry for the New World Survivalist, Underground Champions has combined eight tracks of DJ Premier's signature sound with Monte's guerrilla penmanship. Featured tracks include Chuck D spitting his version of Monte's poem, "The Deal Is Done", originally released on the audio version of The Bandana Republic: A Literary Anthology by Gang Members and Their Affiliates (Soft Skull Press 2008). Some say message music is dead. "Monte Smith VS. DJ Premier" will prove message music is not only alive, but cocked and ready to blast your fu#$%ng head off!
